When Isobel Put Down Her Bags, Erick Began to Dance Print by Nicola Hancock

£140.00

This is one of a collection of paintings responding to an experience of loss in childhood. Twenty-five paintings were made over two years and in three series; Legs Eleven, Love Letters and Summer Special. As it took form, each painting remained vulnerable to change, until the image and the corresponding part of the grieving process, was resolved. As a result, the three series reflect a step-by-step movement from pain and defensiveness towards a livelier sense of joy found in connection with others.

‘When Isobel Put Down Her Bags, Erick Began to Dance’ is one of nine in the Love Letters series.

Mounted Print: 45cm x 45cm
